This year we are running the 3 year old session on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am until 1:30pm.
Each session there is one teacher and one co-educator (diploma certified). The staff to child ratio is 1:11 children.
Children can attend three-year-old kindergarten as soon as they turn three. Even if this is halfway through the year.
Enrolments for 3 and 4-year-olds are managed by Hobsons Bay City Council. You can register through online parent portal called the Central Registration System (CRS), or download an old kindergarten registration form.

Our Kindergarten program for three-year-old children will be free in 2021 as part of a $169.6 million investment in early childhood education in the 2020/21 Victorian State Budget. This applies to Victorian Government-funded services.
Free Kinder forms part of the economic recovery support for Victorians as we recover from the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The initiative is for 2021 only.
The Victorian Government is investing almost $5 billion over the decade to introduce funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten. It’s rolling out in stages, and children across the state will benefit from 2022 with at least five hours of funded kindergarten each week. This will mean another year of learning, growing, playing and making friends for all Victorian children.
You may be thinking that five hours does not seem like much but it is enough for a 3-year-old. It is often the first step out of the home and into a communal space with directed activities. Children have the experience of packing their bags, putting it on a hook, going to the toilet in a new place, washing hands before eating and coming together with other children to sing songs and play.
Being such a short time, there is often very little guided activities. We allow the children to explore the space and encourage sharing, we sit down together for a snack etc.
